Explosion reported in Odesa amid Russian attacks
Russian attack overnight on Sept. 2
On the evening of Sept. 2, explosions were heard in Dnipro and Pavlohrad. Kharkiv and Chernihiv were also targeted, and air defense systems were operating in Kyiv Oblast. The Russian missile attacks on Dnipro resulted in damage to residential buildings, with one person killed and several injured.
Zaporizhzhya was also under attack overnight, with two people killed and two others injured as a result of the strikes.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, one Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missile, and 35 Shahed-131/136 strike drones at Ukraine. Air defense forces intercepted 27 Shahed UAVs, while the remaining drones did not reach their targets.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
