Russian strike damages two universities in Dnipro overnight

Two universities in Dnipro were damaged in a Russian attack overnight into April 15, with one building suffering serious destruction and windows blown out in nearby dormitories, according to university officials.
The National Technical University “Dnipro Polytechnic” said its main academic building was hit, describing the damage as severe.
“There is serious damage—and we won’t pretend that this is just another challenge that’s easy to overcome,” the university posted on its page. “This is a place where so many people found themselves, their profession, their people, and seeing it like this is truly painful.”
Officials noted the first building had survived worse after it was rebuilt from ruins after World War II.
“We have already begun rebuilding our university—systematically, without panic, step by step,” wrote university representatives, who thanked the Dnipro city government and the volunteers who have been helping in the aftermath of the attack.
“And right now, we are reaching out to our own—to those who studied and worked here, and for whom the words ‘Dnipro Polytechnic’ are more than just a line on a diploma.”
The second affected institution was the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology. Its page reported a direct hit on the Educational and Scientific Institute of the Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
“As a result, the academy building was damaged, and windows were shattered in the nearby dormitories. We extend our support to all students, faculty, and staff at the institution,” university representatives wrote.
Russian attack on Dnipro on April 15
Overnight into April 15, Russia struck the center of Dnipro, injuring three people. According to the regional military administration, a new residential building and an administrative building were damaged.
Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov reported that the Russian attack damaged two educational institutions and dormitories. In addition, the blast wave affected nearly three dozen residential buildings.
“Not a single military target. Just the homes of Dnipro residents and sites that are part of the city’s cultural heritage and serve as its scientific base,” wrote Filatov.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
