A team of medics evacuating psychiatric patients from the village of Strilecha in Kharkiv Oblast came under fire from a Russian attack, which killed four of them, Kharkiv governor Oleh Synehubov said in a Telegram post on Sept. 18.
According to Synehubov, the medics managed to evacuate 30 out 600 patients so far, risking their lives in an active warzone.
Two patients were injured in the attack.
A local Telegram channel said a Russian tank fired at the medic’s passing car, killing two of the medical workers immediately.
Russian forces continue to level infrastructure across the region with daily artillery strikes.
