Russian troops targeted power infrastructure overnight on Oct. 19, damaging equipment in several oblasts, according to NPC Ukrenergo.

Emergency power cuts have been partially implemented in the Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts.

Energy companies will begin restoration as soon as the security situation allows, Ukrenergo reported.

The Ministry of Energy noted that shelling of overhead lines and a substation in Chernihiv Oblast caused blackouts for household consumers and resulted in a fire.

In Sumy Oblast, a UAV attack on a substation also caused a fire, leading to power cuts for both household and industrial consumers.

Earlier on Oct. 19, the Sumy regional administration reported Russian strikes on power infrastructure, injuring seven people, including five rescuers.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
