At least ten drones were reportedly shot down in the Moscow suburbs overnight, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin wrote on Telegram early on Aug. 21.

He claimed it was “the biggest attack on the Russian capital for the whole time.”

The first explosions were reported near the town of Podolsk around 2:50 a.m., followed by at least two more loud explosions near another Moscow Oblast town, Klimovsk, half an hour later.

Several videos of the attack and the alleged destruction of one of the drones were posted by witnesses on social media.
