Russia launched a drone attack on the southern part of Ukraine’s Odesa Oblast overnight, damaging energy, industrial, and port infrastructure, regional Governor Oleh Kipper reported on Telegram on March 17.

The attack sparked fires across several facilities, which first responders have already extinguished.

Several settlements were left without electricity. Critical infrastructure has been switched to backup power.

There have been no reported casualties. Efforts to mitigate the consequences of the attack and assess the damage are ongoing.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
