On the afternoon of Feb. 23, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv city and oblast. Soon, there were reports of the sounds of explosions.
The Kyiv Oblast Military Administration later announced that air defense was working in the region.

It was speculated that the target was either a balloon or a reconnaissance drone.
