Western Ukraine targeted by Russian UAVs, officials confirm no casualties
Russian forces attacked Ukraine's Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast with drones early on Aug. 21, but caused no casualties or damage, regional governor Svitlana Onyshchuk reported on Telegram.
The attack occurred at dawn. There were no casualties or destruction, Onyshchuk said, urging residents of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast to take air raid warnings seriously and not to ignore them.
Air raid alerts were triggered in multiple regions of Ukraine overnight on Aug. 20 due to the threat of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In Kyiv, sirens sounded four times overnight and in the morning, while air defense systems were active in the surrounding region.
In Vinnytsia, air defense forces shot down four out of eight drones, with some damage to civilian infrastructure reported.
