Child among 3 killed in devastating Russian drone attack on Dnipro, dozens injured

Three people, including a child, were killed and at least 30 others were injured in a brutal massive Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian administrative center of Dnipro late on April 16, the State Emergency Service (SES) reported on Telegram the following morning, posting photos of the aftermath.

Sixteen people remain hospitalized, one in serious condition. Among the injured are children aged nine months, six and 11 years.

At least 15 residential and administrative buildings, student dormitories, a university, a factory and dozens of cars were damaged, Mayor Boris Filatov said, adding that one of the enemy drones nearly missed City Hall.

"It hit 100 meters away. Right next to the monument to (Olexander) Pol," he wrote on Telegram.

According to regional Governor Serhiy Lysak, 10 Russian Shahed attack drones were shot down over Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Numerous fires in the city center have been extinguished. Emergency efforts are underway to deal with the aftermath of the attack.
