Russian drones struck energy infrastructure in the Kovel and Lutsk districts of Volyn Oblast overnight on October 22, Regional Governor Roman Romanyuk reported.

The strikes occurred as air defense forces detected dozens of drones over the region during a 24-hour period, with the attacks primarily targeting the regional energy grid.

No casualties have been reported, according to local authorities.

The Volyn Regional Military Administration reported on October 21 that Russian drones struck critical energy infrastructure in the Kovel district, leaving more than 5,000 households in the city of Lutsk without electricity.

Russian forces launched a massive overnight aerial barrage against Ukraine on October 22, firing multiple ballistic missiles and 210 drones. The attacks primarily targeted Kyiv, killing one person and injuring more than 20 others.

The assault also hit Kharkiv, Kremenchuk, Odesa, Vinnytsia, and several other oblasts across Ukraine.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
