Russian forces launched Zircon and Oniks anti-ship missiles, Iskander-M and S-400 ballistic missiles, and 188 drones – including propeller-driven Shaheds, jet-powered Shaheds, Gerberas, and Parodiya decoys – in a massive overnight strike against Ukraine on September 30, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
The missiles were fired from Kursk, Voronezh, and Bryansk Oblasts in Russia, while the drones were deployed from Orel, Kursk, and Millerovo in Russia; from occupied Donetsk; and from Hvardiiske and Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.
Ukrainian air defense shot down or neutralized 155 enemy UAVs.
The attack primarily targeted Kyiv Oblast. The aerial strikes made impact at 18 separate locations
The Air Force warned that the Russian attack was still underway, with multiple Russian drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
Emergency responders pulled the body of a child from the rubble of a destroyed home in Vyshhorod following a massive Russian missile and drone attack that targeted key infrastructure across Kyiv Oblast overnight on September 30.
First responders in Vyshhorod managed to rescue three people from beneath the rubble, including a child who was treated for severe shock, a man with shrapnel wounds to the head, and a woman with a leg injury.
The overnight barrage also struck inside the city limits of Kyiv, killing two people and wounding four others as strikes landed across several districts of the capital.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
