Russian forces launched 137 Shahed, jet-powered Shahed, Gerbera UAVs, and Banderol/Dan-T missiles, along with Parodiya decoy drones, against Ukraine overnight on October 6, the Air Force reported.
As of 08:00 a.m. local time, Ukrainian air defenses shot down or neutralized 114 enemy UAVs.
Airstrikes made impact at 17 locations with debris from shot-down targets falling in four locations.
The Air Force warned that the Russian attack was still underway, with multiple Russian drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
Russian forces struck a bridge over the Dnipro River in Zaporizhzhya on the morning of October 6, forcing authorities to shut down traffic. The attack wounded five people, including two Red Cross workers who were hospitalized.
Debris from an intercepted drone also struck the roof of an educational institution in Kyiv’s Obolonskyi district, sparking a fire.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
