October 19 Russian strike on Ukraine
Russian forces launched a massive assault across Ukraine on October 19, deploying Iskander-M and S-400 ballistic missiles, Iskander-K cruise missiles, and 269 Shahed-type attack drones, including 59 jet-powered models. The barrage also utilized S-8000 Banderol and Gerbera UAVs alongside Parodiya decoy drones. The coordinated attack struck 25 locations, while intercepted targets and falling debris came down at eight other sites.
The attacks primarily targeted Kyiv, causing widespread damage across three of the city’s districts. Ukraine’s State Emergency service reported that the Russian barrage killed one person and wounded eight others.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
