Russian forces expand foothold in two Ukrainian oblasts

Russian troops have advanced in the village of Poltavka in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhya Oblast, the DeepState monitoring group reported on Telegram on Oct. 8.

According to updated frontline maps, the enemy has also improved its tactical positions near four other settlements in the oblast, including Novoivanivka, Okhotnytske, Malynivka, and Vyshneve.

Russian forces have also advanced near the village of Novomykolaivka in the northeastern Sumy Oblast.

On Oct. 7. Ukrainian forces liberated the Russian-occupied village of Sichneve in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
