The Ukrainian troops hit the quarters of a special unit of the Russian FSB security service in Melitopol in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the city’s mayor, Ivan Fedorov, said on the national television on Dec. 12.
"It was the FSB's special unit in charge of maintaining databases and analytics,” Federov said.
The location hit was a hotel complex occupied by invading Russian forces, the mayor said.
“They were software developers who provided the information that was used to further terrorise our civilians. Besides, Ossetian troops (a Caucasus Ethnic Group in Russia) liked this place. They rested, ate and slept there. Dozens of ambulances were seen coming out there.”
In the evening of Dec. 10 over 10 strong explosions were heard in Melitopol.
Earlier, Fedorov reported over 200 invading Russian troops were eliminated as a result of the strike on Melitopol.
