Russian media report drone attacks in Voronezh, Rostov oblasts

An unidentified drone plunged onto the territory of a military unit in Russia’s Voronezh Oblast and exploded early on May 4, the Russian Astra Telegram messenger said in a post.

The drone hit the territory of military unit No. 45117 in the town of Buturlinovka, the post read – there were no casualties as a result of the incident, according to preliminary reports.

Meanwhile, a drone attacked an oil refinery in the village of Kiselyovka in Russia’s Rostov Oblast overnight on May 4.

According to the Baza Telegram messenger, the Ukrainian drone crashed into the structures of the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery’s inter-shop flyover, which are under construction.

After the collision, the drone exploded and caught fire. The blaze was later extinguished.

The regional authorities reported no casualties as a result of the attack.

Russian regions have recently seen frequent cases of fires at oil refineries.

In particular, fuel tanks at the Ilskii Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Krai caught fire after a drone attack overnight on May 4.

Just a day before, a fuel storage facility caught fire in Taman Port, also in Krasnodar Krai.
