Russian GAZelle van goes psychic in latest 'tech breakthrough' – video

Russian students claim to have created a "mind-controlled" GAZelle van, as reported by Telegram media ChTD on Sept. 27, sparking skepticism and humor on social media.

In a bold assertion that would make even sci-fi writers blush, students from Ulyanovsk State Technical University, collaborating with Neiry laboratory, announced they've developed a "driverless" GAZelle van controlled by "the power of thought."

To back up this extraordinary claim, they released a video showcasing their "neurointerface" in action.

The system allegedly "records the operator's brain electroencephalogram (EEG) readings," "tracks head movement and pulse," and "analyzes stress levels, fatigue, and concentration."

"The data is transmitted to a computer that controls the GAZelle – it can accelerate, brake, and turn the wheels without physical driver input," Kremlin propagandists assured with straight faces.

Social media users, however, greeted the news with a healthy dose of skepticism. Many pointed out that Russian "innovative technologies" often end up as either vaporware or rebranded Chinese products from AliBaba.

Adding to the dubiety, eagle-eyed viewers spotted the word "bullsh*t" prominently displayed in the background as the Russian students earnestly described their brainchild. Whether an intentional joke or a Freudian slip, it certainly didn't help their credibility.

Meanwhile, as young minds allegedly conquer telepathic transportation, the "Kremlin elders" are still holding out hope that domestic science will develop a "rejuvenation" drug for them.
