Russian missile attack: Dnipro hit, fires, blackouts in several Ukrainian oblasts

An air raid alert across Ukraine in response to the launch of Kh-101 cruise missiles by six Russian strategic bombers was issued by the Air Force at 5:05 a.m. EET on Nov. 21.

A Russian MiG-31k jet, carrier of Kh-47м2 Кinzhal missiles, was also in the air.

Shortly afterwards, a series of explosions were reported in the city of Dnipro. An industrial facility was damaged and two fires in the city were reported by Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Governor Serhiy Lysak.

Low-flying missiles were recorded in Chernihiv, Sumy, and Poltava oblasts.

National Energy Company Ukrenergo introduced emergency rolling blackouts in Kyiv, as well as across Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, and Donetsk oblasts, power utility DTEK wrote on Telegram.

All enemy aircraft have landed, monitoring groups reported at 6:36 a.m. Air raid alerts have been lifted in Kyiv and Ukraine’s western oblasts. 

On Nov. 20, the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council warned that Russia was preparing a new wave of attacks on Ukraine.
