Russian forces carried out a missile attack on infrastructure facilities the city of Poltava in central Ukraine overnight, Poltava Mayor Oleksandr Mamai said on April 2.

In addition, in the morning there were numerous strikes on infrastructure facilities and residential buildings in the city of Kremenchuk in Poltava Oblast.

“All relevant services are working. We are clarifying information about the victims (of the Russian attacks),” Mamai said.

He urged the public not to publish photos from the scene of shelling.

Poltava Governor Dmytro Lunin also confirmed that at least four Russian missiles had hit infrastructure facilities in Poltava during the night.

Three enemy warplanes attacked industrial facilities in Kremenchuk in the morning, according to early reports.

Rescuers are continuing to put out fires caused by the Russian attacks.
