An overnight drone attack set fire to one of the tanks at an oil depot in the Starooskolskiy district in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov claimed on Telegram early on Nov. 12.

According to him, 10 fire engines “quickly extinguished the fire after the explosion. No one was injured.”

On Oct. 16, CNN reported that Ukraine had carried out more than 7,000 strikes on Russian territory in 2024.

Ukraine has conducted long-range drone strikes on Russian targets up to 1,700 kilometers from its border, hitting both military and infrastructure sites, including ammunition depots and oil refineries.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
