Two Ukrainian civilians – a man and a child – were killed after a Russian missile struck a detached housing neighborhood in Zaporizhzhya during the night of April 8 to 9, Zaporizhzhya City Council secretary, Anatoliy Kurtiev, reported on Telegram.

A woman was admitted to hospital, and another person received first aid on the spot, he said.

"At night, two rascist (pejorative term for Russians – ed.) missiles hit one of the suburbs of the city," said the official.

Kurtiev implied that there could be additional casualties.

“The brutes destroyed one house. Windows and roofs of dozens of neighbouring houses were damaged. At this time, we know that, unfortunately, two people died: a man and a child born in 2012, who passed away in an ambulance. The rubble is still being cleared — according to preliminary information, three people lived in the house.”

"The street is currently cut off from gas and electricity," he added.

“All relevant services are working on the spot. There are two municipal buses where people can warm up and get hot drinks.”
