Russian sabotage group breaks into Kharkiv
A Russian sabotage group broke through Ukrainian defenses into Ukraine's second largest city Kharkiv early on Feb. 27, according to reports and video posted on social media.
The reports were confirmed by the Spravdi center of strategic communications and by Anton Gerashchenko, an advisor to Ukraine's interior minister.
“Enemy cars are moving through the city. This was verified by the regional Department of Civil Protection. Due to the current situation, passenger transport around Oleksiivka is suspended”, reported Spravdi.
Russian invaders entered the city from the direction of Oleksiivka, Gerashchenko said in his Telegram channel. He added that street fighting is continuing across Oleksiivka, in the Hydropark area, and in the city center.
Two enemy vehicles are confirmed to have been destroyed.
Oleg Synegubov, head of Kharhiv regional administration, urged residents to stay inside and not to leave shelters.
Video later emerged of Ukrainian troops inspecting a destroyed column of Russian special forces vehicles in the north part of Kharkiv.
