Shahed strikes hit Sumy: apartment building and offices damaged in Russian drone attack
Russian forces struck the city of Sumy with drones overnight
Jan. 26, causing damage, the Sumy Oblast Military Administration reported.
The attack damaged an educational institution, an apartment
building, and several administrative offices in the city. No casualties were
reported, according to the administration.
The administration also stated that Ukrainian air defense
shot down seven Russian drones over Sumy Oblast during the night. Since the
beginning of 2025, a total of 235 drones have been destroyed in the region’s
airspace.
Air raid alerts were issued in multiple oblasts overnight
Jan. 26 due to a Russian drone attack. Explosions were reported in Kharkiv,
where Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed damage to a private house.
