Russian invasion forces shelled Ukraine’s Kherson during the early hours of Oct. 2, Kherson Oblast Military Administration head Oleksandr Prokudin reported on Telegram.

Several areas of Kherson were impacted, and a fire broke out at an impact site in the city center, said Kherson city military administration head Roman Mrochko, adding that the fire had been extinguished.

Private houses and apartments, two educational institutions, a civil infrastructure facility, and a business suffered damage. Several fires erupted as a result of the shelling.

Shelling incidents in Kherson and its surrounding areas have become nearly daily occurrences. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on Sept. 27 that he had issued specific directives to the military regarding this ongoing threat.

The enemy conducted extensive shelling in Kherson on the evening of Sept. 27 and during the night of Sept. 28, Prokudin reported. Tragically, a 41-year-old man died on his doorstep during the shelling.

Occupiers targeted two businesses while rescue workers were on site, reported Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
