Poltava Oblast faces energy disruptions after debris from Russian drones damages infrastructure
A Russian strike involving Shahed drones caused damage to energy infrastructure in Poltava Oblast, according to local governor Philip Pronin on Sept. 28.
Seventy-two households and 22 businesses are currently without electricity, with specialists working to restore power.
Air defense systems engaged enemy targets during the attack, and there were no reported casualties, according to Pronin.

On the evening of Sept. 27, Russian forces launched multiple waves of Shahed drones toward Ukraine, triggering air alerts in several oblasts. Reports indicated explosions in Dnipro and air defense operations in Kyiv Oblast and the capital.
The Russian military fired 73 Shahed drones, two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, and two Kh-59/69 guided missiles, with air defense forces intercepting two cruise missiles and 69 drones, according to the Air Force.
