Russian troops continue to fire on Sumy Oblast, says regional governor

The Russian military has again fired mortars at the border areas of Sumy Oblast, head of the Sumy Oblast Military Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyy said in a post on the Telegram messenger on June 6.

After 9 a.m. there were about four strikes on Velyka Pysarivka community,he wrote.

"After 2 p.m., the Russians got enraged: they opened fire with mortars on the territory of the Shalyhyne community. About 30 attacks," Zhyvytskyy said.

At the same time, mortar fire continued through the territory of the Velyka Pysarivka community, with 10 strikes. And before that, an enemy UAV dropped an improvised explosive device.

At the same time, Zhyvytskyy noted that "there is good news from the enemy: the Russians continue to strike at themselves on their own territories. They fired on the settlement of Tyotkino, damaging, in their words, houses, railway, and a plant."

In the afternoon of June 4, an enemy plane which came from the Russian village of Nikolaevka fired six rockets at the border territory of Sumy Oblast.
