A report by the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had regained some lost positions in Novohrodivka, southeast of Pokrovsk. However, on Sept. 4, the ISW reported that the Russian troops had likely captured the village of Halytsynivka and the town of Novohrodivka. Prior to this, the 59th Brigade confirmed its withdrawal from Novohrodivka.

DeepState reported that the Russian invasion forces had advanced in the area of Toretsk and near Vuhledar, which they are attempting to bypass from the flanks.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, claims that Ukrainian defenders have managed to halt the advance of Russian units near Pokrovsk.

The Azov Brigade reported successful counterattacks in New York and the return of part of the settlement under Ukrainian control on Sept. 6. Additionally, Azov units deblocked the military of the Defense Forces who were surrounded by the enemy.

DeepState revealed that Azov had expelled Russians from a phenol plant in the settlement of New York and cut off the paths of the aggressor’s forces toward the neighboring Nelipivka.
