A Russian war plane has crashed in the Valuysky city district of Belgorod Oblast, oblast governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported on Telegram on Feb. 23.

“A MoD plane crashed in the Valuysky city district,” Gladkov wrote.

“Currently, an investigative team and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working at the scene. The cause of the incident is being investigated.”

Local Telegram channels reported that a Su-25 attack aircraft had crashed, and photos from the crash site soon appeared on social media. Reports said that the plane had crashed and was on fire, and an outbuilding was damaged.

The pilot was reported to have ejected from the aircraft, but his condition was unknown, according to reports.

On Feb. 13, National Guard servicemen shot down a Russian Su-25 aircraft in the Bakhmut area of Donetsk Oblast.
