Russians intensify hunt for Ukrainian partisans in occupied territories
Russian occupation authorities are increasing the number of special forces and military personnel in the occupied areas of Kherson Oblast with the aim of hunting down Ukrainian partisans in, the Special Operations Forces’ National Resistance Center (NRC) reported on Dec. 15.
The NRC recorded a strengthening of the invader’s counter-diversionary measures in Kherson. In particular, Russian military personnel are forming separate mobile groups for radio electronic reconnaissance (RER), making attempts to identify sources of emissions from satellite phones.
They are aware that Ukraine’s Armed Forces use equipment from satellite communications operator Iridium. In addition, about one hundred Russian National Guard servicemen have been allocated for conducting large-scales weeps in populated areas.
These actions are carried out in a way to exert psychological pressure on the local residents who pass on information to Ukraine’s military, the NRC warned, urging residents in occupied territories to actively report the presence of suspicious antennas, movement routes, and locations of National Guard forces – but to take special care when communicating this information to Ukraine.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
