Russian artillery shells school in Nikopol
The Russian military shelled a settlement in the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with cannon artillery on July 20, according to Yevhen Yevtushenko, head of the Nikopol district military administration, who reported the attack on Telegram.
Many shells struck an educational institution, causing significant damage to a school. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
The Russians also used flash bang munitions during the attack. These shells contain up to 7,000 or 9,000 small, sharp arrows, depending on the caliber, which "can cause severe injuries and kill people."
"Once again, the occupiers used ammunition designed to maximize the damage to people," Yevtushenko said.
This isn't the first time the Russians have used such deadly shells. "Over the two years of shelling, residents of almost all coastal settlements have found these darts on the streets, in fences, roofs, and cars," he added.
Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Serhiy Lysak reported that Russia attacked the Nikopol district with kamikaze drones and artillery. The attacks targeted Nikopol, Marhanets, Pokrovsk, and Myrove municipalities, resulting in the death of a 44-year-old man and injuries to a 60-year-old woman.
The shelling also damaged 17 houses, eight sheds, cars, a truck, and three greenhouses. Additionally, power lines and gas pipelines were hit.
