Worried about air strikes, RU moves S-400 air defense system to heart of Moscow, far from frontlines
Atesh agents discovered the S-400 air-defense mobile surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems division deployment in Moscow, the resistance movement reported on Telegram on Feb. 6.
The agents conducted a reconnaissance of the military unit and unveiled the precise location of 12 S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile (SAM) launchers, alongside radar stations and universal towers, at coordinates 55.8398978, 37.5628480.
This finding highlights a critical strategic move by Russia, positioning such advanced air defense systems deep within Russia and far from the frontlines where such capabilities are reportedly in short supply.
The deployment is likely aimed to protect places of strategic importance inside Russia, indicating the need to provide protection deep inside Russia, reported Atesh.
The partisans earlier conducted reconnaissance of the territory of Tactical Missile Arms Corporation, Russia’s largest defense enterprise in the city of Korolyov near Moscow, the group reported on Jan. 25.
The area around the airfield in temporarily occupied Dzhankoy was reported to have been scouted out on Jan. 23.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
