Russian forces deployed a Tor M2KM air defense missile system on a public beach in the city of Sevastopol in occupied Crimea, the partisan resistance movement Atesh reported on Telegram on July 1, posting photos and the location of the surface-to-air system.
"This time, the Russians have chosen another ‘ideal’ place to deploy their air-defense missile system. It was placed right above the beach, once again endangering the local population,” Atesh wrote, adding that Ukrainian forces have been systematically targeting Russian radar stations and air defense systems, clearing a "corridor" to the Kerch bridge.
"The countdown to the life of the 'illegal structure' has begun."
Earlier, on June 23, the Russian-appointed "governor" Mikhail Razvozhayev declared a state of emergency in Sevastopol after accusing Ukraine’s Armed Forces of launching a long-range ATACMS missile attack. He claimed four people, including two children, were killed in the strike. Allegedly, 151 people sought medical assistance, with 82 requiring hospitalization, he said.
