Shmyhal orders redeployment of electronic warfare systems to frontline regions
Electronic warfare systems will be redeployed to Ukraine’s
frontline regions to protect civilians from drone attacks, Prime Minister Denys
Shmyhal announced on June 26 via Telegram.
“It is extremely important to protect the population from
constant drone attacks,” the head of government said.
He added that the Defense Ministry and regional military
administrations have been instructed to coordinate with the military for the
rapid redistribution of electronic warfare assets to the most vulnerable areas.
Shmyhal also stressed the need to secure evacuation routes.
On June 11, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is
developing new drone interceptors to safeguard the country’s energy
infrastructure.
On June 12, the Cabinet of Ministers simplified the
procurement process for domestically produced tactical-level drones and
electronic warfare systems.
On June 26, Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russian forces
launched 41 drones overnight. Air defenses shot down 24 of them, while strikes
were recorded at seven locations.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
