Russian forces launched Shahed drone strikes on Balakliya in Kharkiv Oblast overnight, injuring six people, including two children, City Military Administration chief Vitaliy Karabanov reported on June 16.
“Four victims have been hospitalized and are receiving the necessary medical care,” Karabanov said.
“Two people were treated at the scene.”
Authorities are now clarifying information regarding other potential casualties.
Karabanov added that the strikes targeted high-rise apartment buildings and businesses in residential areas.
Clean up efforts are still ongoing.
An earlier large-scale Russian attack on Balakliya on May 23 wounded nine people.
The attacks sparked fires across the city and caused damage to nine vehicles, a post office, a hotel, a cafe, a school, a high-rise building, and a sports facility.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
