Slovakia to double artillery shell production – again

Slovakia intends to double its artillery round production capacity, Defense Minister Jaroslav Nagy told Slovak newspaper Pravda on March 15.
Nagy said he will discuss the matter with European Commissioner for the Internal Market of the European Union, Thierry Breton, during his upcoming visit to Slovakia. According to the minister, Slovakia has already doubled the production of ammunition, now they want to increase it by another hundred percent.
“We will also visit our munitions manufacturing facilities to further increase production,” said Nagy.
“We have already taken measures to increase production and we want to increase it even more.”
“If it works out – investments will be required, which will be also discussed with the European Commissioner,” the minister added.
The European Commission recently announced that the EU will take steps to increase the production of ammunition for Ukraine at factories of 15 different defense enterprises across 11 countries.
