Strict gasoline rationing in effect across occupied Crimea

Russian occupation authorities in Crimea
announced June 4 that retail sales of gasoline would be suspended "for
several days" because of an acute fuel shortage, RFE/RL reported.
Sergey Aksyonov, who leads the Russian-installed administration in Crimea, said that those with existing fuel coupons may buy no more than 20 liters of gasoline per person. He said there are currently no coupons for sale and none are expected to be available soon.
Aksyonov said officials from municipal and regional agencies will be stationed at gas stations to record license plate numbers of vehicles filling up with coupons and to prevent anyone from exceeding the limit.
He also said emergency services, ambulances, security forces,
and public transport have fuel reserves, and that authorities have reduced
vehicle use in some agencies "to one vehicle per ministry" as part of
conservation measures.
