Three dead in Sumy shelling
The Russian military has shelled Znob-Novhorodske in Sumy Oblast, killing three civilians, local official Petro Honcharov told public broadcaster Suspilne on Jan. 29.
Two people were injured when a mortar shell exploded near a local post office. One of the victims died in an ambulance on the way to a hospital in nearby Shostka, Honcharov said.
"A residential building with a man and a woman in it was shelled with Grad [MLRS] rockets; they died on the spot," he added.
Residential buildings and a bakery were also damaged in the attack, according to Honcharov.
"Two houses burned down completely," he said.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
