Three Ukrainian ministers may lose their positions in the government, online newspaper Ukrainska Pravda’s Off the record Telegram messenger said in a post on Jan. 23.
The first candidate for dismissal is reportedly Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
Ukraine’s Youth and Sport Minister Vadym Gutzeit and Minister of Strategic Industries Pavlo Riabikin are also in line for the sack, the channel said.
According to the reports, the President’s Office has been debating for a long time whether there is currently a need for these ministries at all, or whether they should be reduced or merged with other ministries.
“On the part of the Verkhovna Rada, seizing the moment, the lawmakers would like to replace the Minister of Education and the Minister for Veteran Affairs,” the report says.
However, the President’s Office “isn't seriously talking about it” now, the report goes on.
At the same time, Tymoshenko himself said he would not comment on rumors about his dismissal and called them "nonsense from Telegram messengers".
