Trump once again ‘disappointed’ with Putin

U.S. President Donald Trump is “very disappointed” with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s insistence on continuing the war against Ukraine, Trump said on Sept. 2.
In a phone interview with The Scott Jennings Show, the U.S. president also claimed that he’s “doing something to help people live,” referring to his efforts to broker a peace deal between Kyiv and Moscow.
“I’m very disappointed in president Putin, I can say that, and we’re doing something to help people live,” said Trump.
Besides reiterating his claims that the 2020 U.S. presidential elections were “stolen,” Trump also said that 7,000 people are dying every week in the Russo–Ukrainian war. He did not provide a source for the figure.
Earlier, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent called Russian air strikes on Ukrainian cities “despicable” and said Washington will consider all options to pressure Moscow this week.
Trump and Putin held their first meeting since 2018 on Aug. 15 in Anchorage, Alaska. On Aug. 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and several European leaders visited the White House, where officials agreed to work on security guarantees for Ukraine.
In the early hours of Aug. 28, Kyiv endured one of the largest Russian air strikes of the war. Twenty-three people, including four children, were killed and 53 wounded.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
