Trump still lacks plan to end war in Ukraine — Yermak
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump does not yet have a concrete plan to end the Russo-Ukrainian war, head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, said in an interview with public broadcaster Suspilne on Dec. 12.
“No plan exists so far, and we have certainly not seen one,” said Yermak.
“We know that there are several opinions and positions under discussion.”
He added that during his recent visits to the United States and meetings with U.S. officials, he was listened to attentively, asked in-depth questions, and officials sought more information.
According to Yermak, the main priority for Ukraine is to provide partners with all the necessary information and clarify Kyiv’s stance on potential peace negotiations.
“The main thing for us now is to provide all this information, give our position, explain why we think so, and provide historical examples,” he said.
On Dec. 7, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, upon arriving in Paris for the opening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral, took part in a trilateral meeting with Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.
On Dec. 8, Trump wrote in his social media platform, Truth Social, that there needs to be an "immediate cease-fire" in Ukraine and called on Kyiv and Moscow to start negotiations.
