Ukrainian air defense forces shot down two Russian cruise missiles over Odesa Oblast overnight that were launched from Ukraine’s Russian-occupied Crimea, Odesa regional military administration spokesperson Serhiy Bratchuk said in a Telegram post on June 18.

"The enemy attacked Odesa Oblast at night with missiles flying from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea," Bratchuk said.

"Thank you to our military for a job well done – two deadly birds were destroyed."

According to the Operational Command Pivden (South), the enemy used Oniks cruise missiles to attack Odesa Oblast.

Bratchuk added that a group of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, namely two missile ships, one submarine and three large landing ships, remained in the Black Sea.

He said that the threat of a missile strike was still very high.
