The Ukrainian delegation was ready to Turkey for the next
round of trilateral
Ukraine–U.S.–Russia talks, but Washington asked to postpone the meeting until
next week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on March 10.
Zelenskyy told reporters that he spoke with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and that the situation in the Middle East had not reduced the priority of ending the war in Ukraine.
“Therefore, we were ready to go to Turkey; the American side postponed it, deferred it, and said, ‘Let’s do it next week.’ That is the information available today,” state news agency Ukrinform quoted Zelenskyy.
He added that Ukrainian negotiators are in daily contact with U.S. officials.
“The secretary of the National Security and Defense Council [Rustem Umerov] is in contact with them. We’ll see what the next date will be,” he said.
After the phone call with Erdogan, Zelenskyy posted on Telegram
that Turkey is ready to host the next round of trilateral negotiations.
