Ukrainian air defenses shot down or disabled 128 of the 154 Shahed, Gerbera, and other drones launched from Russia’s Bryansk, Orel, and Millerovo oblasts overnight, the Air Force reported on Telegram on Sept. 26.
The attack targeted the north, south, east, and center of the country.
Twenty-six Russian drones hit nine sites across Ukraine. One more site reported damage from falling drone debris.
The assault was repelled using aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups.
The attack is ongoing. Waves of enemy drones continue to enter Ukraine’s airspace from the north.
Earlier this day, Sumy Oblast Governor Serhii Kryvosheienko reported that at least a dozen houses were damaged in a Russian bomb strike on the densely populated suburbs of Sumy.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
