Ukraine downs all 11 Russian Shahed drones in overnight attack - Air Force
All 11 Shahed attack drones launched in several groups overnight from Russia’s Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk directions were shot down, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk reported on Telegram on Aug. 19.
The enemy drones were intercepted by mobile fire groups, air defense and electronic warfare units over Ukraine’s Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Donetsk oblasts.
Russia launched over 40 missiles, 750 guided bombs, and 200 drones at Ukraine last week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Aug. 18.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
