Ukraine orders 4-day ceasefire — report

Ukrainian troops received orders to observe a ceasefire
along the front line from midnight Sept. 5 through 11:59 p.m. Sept. 8, Ukrainska
Pravda reported late at night on Sept. 4.
The report cited sources in several Ukrainian brigades operating across different areas of the front line and a senior national security source.
According to the publication, the initiative came from the Ukrainian side. However, no agreement with Russia on a ceasefire had been reached as of publication.
Shortly after midnight on Sept. 5, Russia attacked Dnipro with several ballistic missiles, casting doubt on whether the Kremlin would reciprocate.
The unusual push for a truce comes as U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are scheduled to visit Moscow for talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on Sept. 5. According to U.S. President Donald Trump, they will deliver another proposal for a negotiated peace in the Russo–Ukrainian war.
The next day, Witkoff and Kushner are expected to arrive in
Kyiv and meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
