Ukraine reports 96 ceasefire violations by Russian proxy forces, one soldier killed, six wounded

Ukraine recorded 96 violations of the ceasefire agreement by Russia-controlled armed groups in the Donbas conflict area on Feb. 22, Ukraine’s Joint Forces Operation Headquarters (JFO HQ) wrote on Facebook on Feb. 23.

One Ukrainian soldier received a fatal wound as a result of shelling. Another six were wounded, with one soldier being taken to hospital, JFO HQ reported.

The enemy used Grad missile systems, 152 mm and 122 mm artillery systems, 120 mm and 82 mm mortars, MT-12 anti-tank guns, mounted anti-tank grenade launchers, automatic grenade launchers, hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers, anti-tank guided systems, under-barrel grenade launchers, and other weapons, JFO HQ said.

In particular, Ukrainian positions near Mariupol, Schastia, Muratove, Kriakivka, Hnutove, Shyrokyne, Travneve, Krasnohorivka, Lobacheve, Maryinka, Vodiane, Bohdanivka, Zhovte, Triokhizbenka, Novotroyitske, Starohnativka,Verkhniotoretske, and other settlements came under fire.

Fifteen ceasefire violations by Russian proxies have been recorded in the Donbas since midnight of Feb. 23, including with the use of Grad missile systems and heavy artillery.

The Ukrainian military has said that the current situation is under their full control.
