Third Corps debunks Russia's claims of 'breakthrough' in Lyman

Information from Russia's military command about a "breakthrough" by its forces into Lyman in Donetsk Oblast does not correspond to reality, the Third Army Corps of Ukraine's Armed Forces reported on Telegram on Dec. 3.
The corps called the Russian claims of entering the city lies. Instead, fighting continues around Lyman — Defense Forces repel about 40 Russian assaults daily on the approaches.
In particular, over the past month, enemy troops attempted a dozen small-group infiltrations on Lyman's outskirts; Russian units were eliminated or taken prisoner, the statement said.
On Dec. 1, Russian General Staff chief Valery Gerasimov lied during dictator Vladimir Putin's visit to one of Russia's army command posts, claiming Russian assault groups had "entered" Lyman (formerly Krasnyi Lyman) in Donetsk Oblast.
On Nov. 17, the DeepState monitoring project wrote that the Russian army continues pressing on Lyman in Donetsk Oblast, but the situation has been more or less stabilized, thanks in part to constant detection and destruction of enemy infantry.
The U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War reported that the aggressor is trying to apply its new offensive tactics — used in Pokrovsk — toward Siversk and Lyman to advance from the northeast and east.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
