Ukraine’s victory will “open the way to freedom for Belarus,”

Tsikhanouskaya said during her visit to Kyiv on May 25.
Tsikhanouskaya made the statement at a press event after meeting with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
“We understand that Ukraine is defending not only its independence but also the right of our peoples to live without imperial dictatorship, violence and fear,” Tsikhanouskaya said.
“I am confident that Ukraine’s victory will open the way to freedom for Belarus.”
Tsikhanouskaya, on her first working visit to Ukraine, said she came to Kyiv to demonstrate that “the Belarusian people support the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
She said the regime in Minsk has made Belarus complicit in the Russian aggression. “Lukashenko is a usurper who lost the election; he does not represent Belarusians and serves only the interests of the Kremlin and imperial Russia,” she said.
“But Belarus is not Russia. Belarusians stood with you on
Maidan and have been dying in the trenches since 2014. Thousands have protested
the war, and hundreds remain jailed for supporting Ukraine.”
