25 July 2025, 11:49 AM

Ukraine has secured confirmation for the delivery of three out of ten Patriot air defense missile systems it needs, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced at a meeting with journalists on July 24.

"I have officially received confirmation from Germany for two systems and from Norway for one. We are currently working with our Dutch partners," Zelensky said, mentioning ongoing efforts to receive production licenses for missiles for the systems and a positive development in Germany in this regard.

He also confirmed U.S. President Donald Trump's commitment to selling Patriot systems to Ukraine, emphasizing the challenge of finding funding for all ten systems.

“I would also like to have a package of missiles for each system,” he added.

This follows an earlier announcement by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his Norwegian counterpart Jonas Gahr Støre on July 21 that Berlin and Oslo would make a joint financial contribution to purchase and deliver U.S.-made Patriot systems to Ukraine.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
