Ukrainian forces thwart Russian infiltration of Yampil
The village of Yampil in Donetsk Oblast is under the complete control of Ukrainian forces after a series of counterterrorism measures carried out by units of the 11th Army Corps, the General Staff reported on Telegram late on Sep. 15.
Russian sabotage groups dressed in civilian clothes and disguised as local residents attempted to infiltrate Yampil but they were "detected, blocked, and neutralized."
“The enemy failed to achieve any tactical results. All attempts to conduct reconnaissance and sabotage operations in the settlement were thwarted. Currently, Yampil and the surrounding areas are under complete Ukrainian control," the General Staff said.
Ukrainian units are stepping up countermeasures and constantly monitoring the situation to combat small groups of Russian troops infiltrating the village.
Yampil lies on the administrative border of Ukraine's Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts and is of tactical importance to the eastern frontline.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
